To me, this is the quintessential one-hit wonder example. Singer and guitarist Robert Parissi created a hugely successful and catchy song that was released to the public in 1976 by Parissi’s band Wild Cherry, but sadly he couldn’t come up with another hit of such stature.

This recording is taken from a 12″ EP part of the “Mixed Masters” series by Columbia Records featuring album versions and unreleased mixes of classic disco and club tracks. This particular one was released in 1997 on the Epic label.
