Hey everyone! I thought this was a good up tempo jazz track to test out the Stanton 881S with the Pickering XUV3000 line contact stylus from LP Gear. VTF is set to just 1 gm and zero anti-skate. Track contains various instruments and also testing for any distortion, surface wear sound reproduction, tracking. I thought that this stylus did a good job handling the track and the cartridge was able to reproduce all of the instruments while providing very good clarity overall. I still think it’s a bit recessed in the mid-range zone and some instruments such as the drums and piano seems to be a bit behind in focus rather than neutral or even better forward bias. Tell me what you folks think about how the Stanton sounds.

The track is Nocturne by Tom Browne and on CD it scored a DR rating of only 8, but on vinyl I am getting 12 which is good. I think really good recordings can get more than 16 although I have yet to find a record that can help me to achieve that. Hope you enjoy this video!
