The Peppers was a short-lived French electronic “funky pop” band composed of Mat Camison (keyboards, vocals), Pierre-Alain Dahan (drums, percussion, vocals) and Tonio Rubio (bass), which enjoyed some success with the instrumental tune “Pepper Box”, released in 1973. The band’s sound was based on the melodies created by Camison on his ARP 2600 synthesizer, using portamento (pitch sliding) as a distinctive effect. In 1974 they released their first LP, “A Taste Of Pepper, A Taste Of Honey”, in which “Hot Caramel” was included as the opening track, and here is taken from the B side of a UK single.
