The Love Unlimited Orchestra was a 40-piece ensemble led by him, with a performing and recording career as the backup band for White and the Love Unlimited female vocal trio, and also under their own name. “Love’s Theme”, the orchestra’s most famous recording (penned by White), is one of the few instrumental and purely orchestral singles to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States.

From the album “Rhapsody In White” originally released in the US in 1974, but according to the credits this German pressing was released the year before.
