On the first anniversary of Chick Corea’s death, here’s one of his compositions/performances from his Elektric Band’s self-titled debut album, released in 1986. “Got A Match?”, dedicated to the then recently deceased saxophonist Joe Farrell, who was part of the first incarnation of Corea’s Return To Forever, is considered a blueprint for modern-day jazz fusion and a good starting point for anybody interested in finding out what fusion is all about. Featuring outstanding performances by John Patitucci on six-string electric bass and Dave Weckl on drums.
