Stuart Hamm is a virtuoso bass guitar player born in 1960 in New Orleans. He has worked with artists of the caliber of Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, and also has released several solo albums. This recording is taken from his debut solo release “Radio Free Albemuth” from 1988 on Relativity Records. A fun (and difficult!) tune in which, essentially, Stu takes the role of a lead banjo player with his (long and sadly departed) exquisite-sounding Philip Kubicki Ex Factor bass guitar. The main theme is based on the bluegrass standard “Foggy Mountain Breakdown” by Earl Scruggs.
