For the first time in my channel I bring you the music of a Portuguese artist: Sergio Godinho.
Sergio Godinho is a singer, songwriter, poet and sometimes actor, and has more than 40 years of career in the Portuguese artistic landscape. His music and lyrics deal with various issues from the universal theme of love, social criticism, and especially
in the seventies, also with protest music where he criticized, with a markedly leftist tone, the old fascist regime that ruled Portugal until 1974.
Throughout his career, he collaborated with several Brazilian musicians, among them names like Chico Buarque, Ivan Lins and Milton Nascimento.
The music that I bring today is called “A Noite Passada” (Last Nigth),and is part of a compilation album released in 1985 called “Era Uma Vez Um Rapaz” (About a Boy) but was originally released in the 1972 album “Pré-histórias”.
