“Black Betty” is a work song from the early 20th century that has been recorded by many artists, and the Ram Jam version is perhaps the best-known one. They released it as their debut song on their 1977 eponymous album.

This recording is taken from a 12″ EP part of the “Mixed Masters” series by Columbia Records featuring album versions and unreleased mixes of classic disco and club tracks. This particular one was released in 1997 on the Epic label.
