This is the opening music that started it all. ‘Opening Titles’ from the 1987 John Carpenter film, Prince of Darkness. Presented on the limited edition Death Waltz Records pressing, this is the red and blue splatter lp release. This rare piece really is something to look at, with an awesome texture and explosive print.

As the credits bounced back and fourth with the opening footage, Carpenter really built anticipation with the opening credits to this film. I’ve been watching John Carpenter’s films since the mid 80’s, but Prince of Darkness is by far one of my favorites. His dark, interpretation of the underworld in this film is just incredibly well done and this soundtrack still competes with most newer horror soundtracks of today. I can’t say enough about how great this album is, and as we creep closer to Halloween, I hope it brings you horrific enjoyment as well.
