Polo Montañez (born Fernando Borrego Linares) was a Cuban singer-songwriter that, after many years of creating music with absolutely no formal training while living a very humble life, smashed to fame at the ripe old age of 45 with his debut album “Guajiro Natural”, released in 2000. At least in Colombia, his song “Un Montón De Estrellas” (“A Bunch Of Stars”) was by far the biggest Latin music hit of the year. Sadly, his life was cut short two years later on a car accident in his native Cuba.

“Guajiro Natural” was released for the first time on vinyl in 2021 as a double LP set for the 14th edition of Record Store Day.
