Not even secret agent 007 could escape to the disco whirlwind that took the world by storm in 1977. That’s the year in which “The Spy Who Loved Me”, in my opinion one of the best entries in the entire James Bond series, was released. And Marvin Hamlisch, who wrote and recorded the soundtrack for the movie filling in for the then unavailable John Barry, embraced the trend. “Bond 77” is the famous James Bond theme tune with a strong disco flavor, but without losing the intensity associated to the character.
