LESLIE PEARSON was born in Staffordshire in 1931. In 1949 he won an open scholarship to Trinity College of Music, London as an organist and subsequently became a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists.
He appears frequently with the New Philharmonia Orchestra and English Chamber Orchestra, playing either piano, organ or harpsichord, and has made many recordings with both these and other orchestras.
He has appeared at the Edinburgh, Bath, Aldeburgh and Flanders Festivals, and plays the harpsichord with many of the leading Chamber ensembles including the Academy of St. Martins, with whom in 1971 he made a three week tour of Germany. This was followed in February 1972 by a further tour of Germany with the English Chamber Orchestra.
Leslie Pearson has made many recordings including those of Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos (CFP 400 I 0 and 400 I I), and one entitled Spanish ·Fiesta with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (CFP 40027) for Classics for Pleasure.
