Jos van Immerseel harpsichord
The instrument used was built in 1973 by Waiter Maene (of St Eloois-Vijve in Western Flanders), and is based on the “gilded harpsichord” in the G. Thibault collection, Paris (Andreas Ruckers, Antwerp 1646, enlarged by Pascal Taskin, Paris 1780). Specification : 2 keyboards, 5 octaves, 2 X 8′, 1 X 4′ (plectra In delrin), 1 “Peau de buffle” -stop (leather plectra). Tuning : nearly a semitone below modern pitch. Temperament : unequal.
