On the evening of April 5, 1986, French musician Jean-Michel Jarre offered a concert amidst the skyscrapers of downtown Houston, coinciding with the release of the “Rendez-Vous” album. The concert ended being the celebration of the astronauts who died in the Challenger space shuttle disaster a couple months earlier.

Excerpts from this concert, along with another one performed exactly six months later for Pope John Paul II in Lyon, France (Jarre’s hometown), were released in 1987 on the “En Concert Houston / Lyon” LP, with the Houston excerpts on side A and Lyon excerpts on side B.
