Irakere is one of the most important bands emerged from Cuba, founded by pianist/composer Jesús “Chucho” Valdés in 1973. They became an obligated reference point in the Afro-Cuban jazz genre. Here you can hear an array of monster musicians performing the Valdés-penned composition “Concierto Para Metales” (“Brass Concerto”) from an original German pressing of the 1987 album “Misa Negra” (“Black Mass”).
