It must feel great when a big crowd erupts into applause at the sole mention of your name, as it’s the case with John Lennon after Elton John introduces him in this recording captured on the evening of Thursday, November 28 1974 (Thanksgiving Day) at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. John Lennon made a surprise appearance and joined Elton John and his band to perform three songs, starting with “Whatever Gets You Through The night”. It was Lennon’s last major stage appearance. This recording was released to the public on an EP in 1981.

Original Colombian 12″ EP in translucent green vinyl. It sounds good, but the overall output level on the right channel is slightly louder than on the left. I bet this doesn’t happen on an original US or UK pressing (it’s not a setup problem). And this seems to be the only version that released the recording in the correct order. All others labeled the last song (“I Saw Her Standing There”) as the A side.
