The harpsichord used for this recording was built in 1972 by N. B. van der Waals, and is a copy of a Dulcken-instrument of 1755, now in Brussels. It was tuned according to Werckmeister’s third system.

Christopher Farr was born in 1945 in Caversham, England. Between 1955 and 1958 he sang in the choir of Westminster Abbey; after grammar school he studied organ and harpsichord at Trinity College of Music in Londen. In 1968 he moved to Holland to study under Gustav Leonhardt. He is now professor of harpsichord at the conservatories of Zwolle and Amhem.

The harpsichord used for this recording was built in 1972 by N. B. van der Waals, and is a copy of a Dulckeninstrument of 1755, now in Brussels. It was tuned according to Werckmeister’s third system.
