FAST AND BULBOUS! As of the publishing of this video, Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band’s “Trout Mask Replica” is turning 52 years old. If you aren’t familiar with this album, chances are that you’ll leave this video after a few seconds. It’s perhaps the most polarizing work in the history of recorded music. You either love it or hate it, but nothing in-between (I’m in the “love it” camp). “Pachuco Cadaver” is perhaps one of the most “accessible” tracks on the album.

Originally released on June 16, 1969 under Frank Zappa’s Straight Records label, this is the 2019 reissue by Jack White’s Third Man Records under the Bizarre label (another Zappa imprint).
