Released as the first single from the album “Born In The U.S.A.”, this became Springsteen’s biggest hit. It peaked at #2 for four weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 starting on June 30th of 1984. It was held out of the top spot by “The Reflex” from Duran Duran for one week and “When Doves Cry” by Prince for three more weeks.
