Bernard Brauchli clavichord
Fretted clavichord based on Austrian or South German instruments, from the second half of the 17th century. It was entirely hand-made in 1975 by Peter Kukelka, the former instrument restorer of the Kunsthistorisches Museum of Vienna. Its range is short octave C/ E-c””. It is fretted in the following way: c-c#; – d; eb-e; f-f#; g-g#; a; bb-b. This instrument is tuned in the mean-tone system.

As the clavichord is a very quiet instrument, and as this record has been recorded at a high volume to obtain a good signal to noise ratio, it should be played therefore at a considerably lower volume than the average record.
